Jessie Churchill

Jessie is a Leeds born designer working in the specialism of publication design. Her publications and photo books are held internationally in archives and research centres such as Avery Library at Columbia University (New York), National Art Archive at the V&A (London), Baltic Centre for Contemporary Arts (Newcastle), Rhode Island School of Design (Providence), Ruskin School of Art (Oxford) and The Special Collections at Chelsea School of Art (London).

She studied Sculpture in London at Central Saint Martins and in Tallinn at The Estonian Academy of Arts. At The Estonian Academy of Arts she took classes in Architecture, Ceramics, glass, spacial and graphic design.

After completing studies and post degree exhibitions Jessie went on to found the print Journal 'Looking at Painting'. The journal explores painting in the expanding field. 'Looking at Painting' stemmed from her studio practice, creating a research book to accompany fellow artists in the studio. It is released annually and is sold internationally through bookshops, galleries and toured at Artist book fairs.

Through her work Jessie has been awarded The Adamson Eric Young Sculptor of The Year Award and has been shortlisted by UAL for a Creative Enterprise Award.
